Qualifications: - Age 18+ - High School Diploma or GED - Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen - Complete CPR/First Aid training and TB Test immediately after hire - Indiana driver’s license - CDA/ECE degree preferred (obtain CDA after hire, paid by employer) - Strong problem-solving and communication skills; reliable, personable, innovative, resourceful, and enthusiastic
Responsibilities:
Plan and supervise program activities for one (1) group of children and supervise child care staff, volunteers and visitors working with that group
Maintain a safe play and program environment
Organize and implement classroom programs/curriculum using developmentally appropriate practices to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of children in the program
Observe and monitor children's activities
Maintain all areas used keeping them organized and clean for others
Sanitize toys and play equipment
Participate in serving meals and refreshments to children
Instruct children in health and personal habits, such as eating, resting, and toilet habits
Identify signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and speak with Executive Director to bring them to parents' or guardians' attention
Redirect children and recommend or initiate other measures to effectively manage behavior, such as caring for own clothing and picking up toys and books
Regulate children's rest periods
Organize and participate in recreational activities and outings, such as games and field trips
Maintain clear communication with all staff and with parents
Report any suspected abuse to supervisor
Ensure compliance with state and local licensing and regulations as they relate to childcare programs
Provide informational materials and brochures on childcare programs to participants
Perform general administrative tasks, such as taking attendance, editing internal paperwork, and making and responding to phone calls as needed
Attend training, in-service, staff and other meetings as required
